The Vision : Policies and Procedures
Ventrilo usage and Guild Chat are functions of communication and camaraderie. We have a zero-tolerance policy against behaviors that would have a detrimental effect on the guild:
- Attacking any member for any reason. This includes passive attacks such as racism, sexism, sexual discrimination or gender-sexuality discrimination.
- Arguing aggressively for any reason.
- Begging for items, gear or run-throughs.
- Spamming out-of-game sites or services unless they specifically relate to helping a specific member out.
- Attempting to use the guild chat as trade (hawking items, asking to buy items, etc).
- Trashing the guild in any public chat (while you're still in the guild, obviously)
- Using macros or addons that output to guild chat. This means NO guild chat "welcomes" or "grats" that aren't typed out EVERY TIME. You are more than welcome to congratulate achievements, new boss downs or leveling on a per-time basis.
- Any other annoying behaviors, arbitrarily determined by our officers.
Additionally, we ask that members keep public chat to a game-oriented topic spectrum. Religion, politics, lewd jokes, and anything you wouldn't find in a workplace are discouraged. You may of course discuss anything you wish privately in personal whispers.
We do not generally take action against the following issues:
- We do not take actions against our guildies for he-said she-said circumstantial events that the officers don’t see directly. We can only control what happens in our own guild chat. Even if the officers do see the event in question, if the offense does not match other guidelines (which almost always relate to guild chat only) we will not take action. We are not the all-seeing police of the server. 1k members can do a lot of things that other players may not agree with so if you have a problem with one of our members please put them on ignore or don’t run with them again. If you want retribution for whatever you think they did, please report them using the in-same GM ticket system.
- Fighting with other members outside of guild chat. If you have issue with a member we recommend you be an adult and resolve the conflict yourself. If resolving the conflict is impossible the game has an ignore function; please use it.
Guild Resources
Guild Bank
The guild bank (which has been paid for using the guild leader’s private funds) is used by the guild leaders only (for various reasons). Most excess funds you may see in the guild bank were obtained using gold farming techniques, NOT through any effort of any guild member.
- There are no BOE epics, raiding supplies, or any gear whatsoever inside the guild bank. We don't want the headache of refilling and distributing gear inside and have been in guilds where guildies do nothing but beg for anything they see inside (and then most likely just sell it for their own profit anyway). We're not going to get into that mess.
- We do not keep anything usable to any guildies inside the guild bank.
- Do not ask for access to the guild bank.
- We may open up certain tabs of the guild bank for certain, very planned functions. If we're going up against a new, awesome 25-man boss and need every single person to have a potion ready we might summon a guild chest (lvl11 perk) and have a tab ready and waiting for everyone inside the instance. There may be other reasons to use the guild bank but we're not seeing many at this time.
Guild Money
- Most guild funds seen in the bank are entirely deposited by the guild leader who makes thousands of gold through his own effort. We will not honor any guild member requests for gold. We will not give you gold for any reason. Do not ask as you will be removed from the guild for begging.
- Repair funds may be adjusted depending on availability. We try our best to balance repair limits with cash flow perks so there is no surplus or deficit each week. We are not in the market of making profit from the guild perks.
- Extra funds generated by guild perks (not created from the guild leader’s personal gold farming techniques) not taken by repairs will be used only for guild achievements as determined by the guild leader.
- Loans are not permitted.
Group Activities and Raiding
- All events must be scheduled in the guild calendar provided in-game as “Guild Event”.
- Event coordinators are reserved the right to take the combination of players that they feel will most positively affect the success of the event. Anyone not permitted into their group of choice are encouraged to find another similar group or create a group of their own.
- Members that interrupt events by frequently idling outside of scheduled breaks or do not come to events prepared will not be asked to return to the event. This is at the determination of the event leader.
- Stable teams with the same members each week are encouraged but not required. We want progress, and stable teams breed it.
- If the guild opts to run 25-man dungeons, times will be Tuesday and Thursday at 7-11 EST. 10-man dungeon leaders are encouraged to schedule lower-end dungeons around this time (but are not required to). These times may change without notice.
Ventrilo: additional policy
As we have 1k members ventrilo access can be extremely costly. Because of this we are keeping a flexible user limit depending on the amount of people who help with the cost. Access to the ventrilo server is not guaranteed. If the server is maxed in capacity you may be booted off automatically in favor of a paid user.
“Paid” ventrilo access can be purchased for ONLY FIVE BUCKS by hitting the button below. This purchase will provide you access to the ventrilo server for one full year (if the user remains in good standing with the guild during that time) and the server cap will change depending on the number of paid users.
Paid ventrilo accounts are, obviously, not required to be in the guild. Guildies may also pay for their own ventrilo or mumble access. Anyone who pays for usage is not guaranteed a spot in the guild and is still held to all the same guild rules as everyone else. Paying for access is not refundable for any reason.
If a member leaves or is kicked from the guild they will lose all ventrilo access regardless of payment status.
Violations:
Members found to be in violation of any policies will first be muted in the appropriate communication methods. The member will still be considered guilded and will be held to the same standards in public communication. They will stay in muted status until one of two things happen:
- Member appeals to Demonboom (or any of his alts) directly, explaining the circumstance. Member will tell Demonboom why they deserve to stay in the guild and how they will prevent the offending action from happening again.
- Any member that stays in muted status until the following Monday will be automatically removed by guild maintenance addons.
